Rosslyn Castle
Rosslyn Chapel Trust is responsible for the conservation and care of Rosslyn Castle, which is just a short walk from the Chapel.
Rosslyn Castle is the ancestral home of the St Clair family and the oldest parts date to the early 14th century. The Castle has changed greatly over the centuries and substantial additions were made in the 15th century by Sir William St Clair, founder of the Chapel.
It has long been a popular landmark among landscape painters including Alexander Nasmyth and JMW Turner RA.
The East Range, which dates back to 1622, provides self-catering holiday accommodation through a partnership with the Landmark Trust. A major project of repair and restoration has just been completed and bookings are open for holiday accommodation from autumn 2024.
