A programme of weekly candlelit visits starts this week at Rosslyn Chapel, in Midlothian. Numbers at the evening visits will be reduced to just 24 people per evening to allow enough space for physical distancing.

The Chapel by Candlelight evenings will start on Friday 16th October, from 7 to 9pm, and continue every Friday evening. Visitors will hear about some of the Chapel’s history, and mystery, from one of the Guides and then be able to enjoy discovering the unique stone carvings in the candlelit atmosphere.

Ian Gardner, Director of Rosslyn Chapel Trust, said: ‘Since reopening the Chapel in mid-July, we have had a number of extra safety measures in place and, thanks to these, were accredited by VisitScotland’s ‘Good to Go’ scheme. Visitor numbers during the day have been reduced, to allow for physical distancing, and the capacity for these special evening visits is being limited further to just 24 people per evening. We look forward to sharing the amazing atmosphere of Rosslyn Chapel by Candlelight with visitors over the coming weeks. Full details of safety measures in place are available by clicking here and we would urge everyone to follow all the latest Government advice when thinking of visiting’.

Tickets for the Chapel by Candlelight evenings are now available on the Trust’s website by clicking here. Rosslyn Chapel is open to visitors daily and tickets for daytime visits should also be bought in advance through this website.
