Award served up for Chapel’s coffee shop
December 9, 2020
Rosslyn Chapel’s coffee shop has ended the year on a positive note by being named ‘Best Eatery in a Visitor Attraction’ in the 2020 Mid & East Lothian Food & Drink Awards. The Awards were presented by Midlothian & East Lothian Chamber of Commerce in partnership with headline sponsors East Lothian Food and Drink and Lemac, to ‘celebrate the innovation, resilience, altruism and successes that have taken place within the industry since the last awards, particularly in response to the vast challenges that the sector has faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic’.
The Chapel’s coffee shop, run by Loanhead-based Saltire Hospitality, met the award criteria of attention to detail in relation to its food offering, atmosphere, information and variety of menu. The award category was sponsored by Midlothian Business Gateway.
Mid & East Lothian Chamber Chief Executive, Keith Barbour said, “We’re very pleased to be able to recognise our brilliant hospitality sector during this extraordinarily difficult time. MELCC is proud to celebrate such a wonderful range of businesses and individuals, all showcasing the strong stuff that our local industry is made of. There’s been huge amounts of innovation and creativity – even during such a tough time, we’ve much to celebrate. Congratulations to all the winners, and nominees.”
