“Silver Sounds”: Celebrating 25 Years of Rosslyn Chapel Trust
September 30, 2019
Next year, 2020, marks the 25th anniversary of Rosslyn Chapel Trust, the charity which was established to protect and conserve this unique and remarkable medieval building for future generations to enjoy.
As part of our celebrations, we will be holding 25 lunchtime musical recitals in the Chapel over the course of 2020.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for small ensembles of performers of all kinds to make music in this extraordinary setting: professionals and amateurs alike, instrumentalists and singers, locals and overseas visitors. The acoustics in the Chapel are astounding, and the atmospheric surroundings are uniquely special.
These events will stand separately from the regular Rosslyn Chapel concert series – no concert tickets will be sold and anyone who is visiting the Chapel at the time can hear the music.
If you are interested in taking part in the “Silver Sounds” programme, please fill in the enquiry form and email it to learning@rosslynchapel.com.

The closing date for sending the enquiry form is 25th November 2019, and you will hear whether or not you have been chosen to be part of the Silver Sounds programme by Friday 20th December 2019. Please note filling in the form does not automatically guarantee a chance to perform at Rosslyn Chapel.
Some important details to consider when filling in the enquiry form:
- Performances will take place between 1pm and 1.30pm.
- Due to space constrictions, unfortunately only limited numbers of performers can take part at any one time – maximum 20 performers without instruments; 10 with instruments.
- While we may be able to accommodate outside performers over the summer, indoor performances can only take place from January to May 2020, and from September to December 2020. The months of June, July and August are our peak visitor season and we are unable to hold any events inside the Chapel during opening hours.
- Rosslyn Chapel is a medieval building and a place of worship. Please consider the nature of the venue and respect the experience of other visitors when planning your playlist.
