Spring clean and maintenance underway
April 19, 2017
A programme of spring cleaning and maintenance of Rosslyn Chapel’s historic stonework has started.
The 3-week plan, being undertaken by Alex Kelly, of Eden Architectural Conservation, is part of the ongoing programme of conservation and care of the 15th-century Chapel, managed by Rosslyn Chapel Trust. The work will include removal of biological growth on exterior stonework, repointing open construction joints and repairing deficient mortar repairs at ground and clerestory levels.
The work will require a small scaffolding tower to gain high-level access but this should be of minimal inconvenience for visitors.
